Mikayla Martin

Meet Mikayla!

Mikayla has been involved in Stoa speech and debate for a third of her life, and speech has become something she is incredibly passionate about. She loves the energy, memories, and confidence that come with being a speaker.

During the 2025–2026 season, Mikayla placed in the top 1% nationally in three of her speech events and the top 3% nationally in her other two speeches. She also placed Top 10 at NITOC overall in speech. Mikayla has won NITOC three times in different speech events, and placed second at NITOC in Original Oratory. Over the course of her years in Stoa, Mikayla made it to NITOC finals 6 times and NITOC semi finals an additional 4 times. Outside of competition, she served on her club's Interp Leadership Team and has previous experience coaching public speaking.

Mikayla shares that "I am so excited to coach because I love sharing what I've learned with others. There's nothing better than watching a speaker grow and become more confident. Whether you're brand new to speech or have been competing for years, I want to help you grow, reach your goals, and have fun along the way!"

That being said, Mikayla  "did have a life outside Stoa." She played golf for 10 years and gymnastics for 9 years. In addition, Mikayla worked at Sonic for over two years. She has three sisters and two dogs. Currently, Mikayla is studying sales at Baylor University, and being set to graduate in 2030. She volunteers at her church every Sunday, and is starting a Bible study at Baylor.
