Unsure of how to respond to that niche application you heard in practice rounds? Not sure what values you'll hit on Neg? Curious how best to practice time management or flowing? Bring your questions and we will discuss LD as long as there are questions to answer! If you have a particularly detailed question or would like a more specific answer to applications, etc. feel free to submit those questions ahead of time! Charis has coached LD for 5 years and personally competed in every region of the country for 5 years, winning LD Speaker at Nationals her senior year. She loves LD and cares deeply about helping students learn to develop and critically analyze high quality argumentation.

Creating & Scripting Your Interp

We consistently hear from students that finding the right script and cutting it strategically are the two most difficult parts of creating an interp. But they are also two steps that are 100% necessary and often a make-or-break it part of your success. Mikayla is a 3x national champion in Interp events. During her junior and senior year, she won nearly 2/3rds of the tournaments in which she competed in Open Interpretation or Humorous Interpretation. Mikayla has perfect the strategy of choosing and creating an engaging and compelling script and wants to help you do the same!

Apologetics

Content is key. Support matters in Apologetics more than perhaps any other speech event. With 12 first-place finishes in Apologetics, Reese's heart is to help others succeed in an event that draws students to develop their personal relationship with the Lord and share the truth of His word with those around them.

FREE Time Management Workshop
Monday, November 2nd 7:00pm-8:00pm CT
Taught by National LD Speaker Champion Charis Baker
At the highest level of debate, it is absolutely vital that you are able to control the debate. That's impossible if you're constantly dropping arguments and running out of time. Learn how to control the clock, prioritize the arguments that matter, use your words strategically to say the things that actually matter to your judge, and win the round at a level that your opponents likely aren't even considering. This skill is one that Charis credits much of her LD Speaking championship towards. Get hands on practice with the drill that she used the most to control her verbiage and time.

Mastering Mars Hill

Conversations change people. Learn to develop your Mars Hill binder, build your speech, and utilize prep time at a championship level that you can carry over into real life and real circumstances. Reese has won first place in Mars Hill sixteen times and is looking forward to helping you develop your skills in this area!

Advanced Rebuttals

Develop your refutation at the highest level through finding the crux, impact calculus, attacking links, preemptions, turns, voting issues, and more! This workshop covers some of the most advanced skills in debate that have transformed the way numerous students think about refutation, the focal point of debate. You won't want to miss this opportunity to learn strategies that you're unlikely to hear anywhere else.
